Wisconsin State Climatology Office Community Engagement
The Wisconsin State Climatology Office, in partnership with the Rural Partnerships Institute and Wisconet, met with stakeholders in rural northern Wisconsin to discuss local impacts of extreme weather events and ongoing climate shifts. Participants included representatives from public works, emergency management, tribal nations, and city and county boards, forming a diverse group with shared concerns.
The second meeting in this series will be held in West Salem on January 21, 2026, with a third meeting planned for the Central Sands region in early February.
Graduate students Clark Zimmerman and Rudradutt Thaker have been coaching Science Olympiad, a national STEM competition.
