Climate change is altering the seasonal timing of biological events across the tree of life, with the potential to hasten population declines and disrupt ecosystem function. Yet we lack broad comparisons of sensitivity to phenological cues across groups as diverse as insects. This talk will highlight how integrating participatory science and museum data can quantify drivers of insect phenology at broad scales, and how life history traits condition sensitivity to climate and weather anomalies. I will also demonstrate consequences of phenological shifts including potential trophic mismatch and introduce my research vision for my new lab.
