The East River Collaborative is a regional network of partners working together to enhance the resilience of northeast Wisconsin’s East River watershed. Communities in the watershed experienced several flood events in recent years during a period of both record annual precipitation and record-high Lake Michigan water levels.
The East River Collaborative has worked across boundaries to identify shared goals and actions to build resilience throughout the watershed. This work has been informed by modeling, which revealed how precipitation and lake level changes interact to cause flooding and impact community assets. Engagement is now being conducted to identify specific, high-priority, community-based solutions to reduce the impacts of flooding in the watershed
