Leveraging a Public School District and Schoolyard Spaces to Confront Climate Health Inequities in a Low-Income, Urban Community of Color

Speaker:  Kirsten Beyer, Professor of Epidemiology and Social Sciences, Medical College of Wisconsin

Dr. Beyer will share her work on greenspace and public health with a focus on current EPA funded work in partnership with Reflo and Milwaukee Public Schools to (1) examine the impact of schoolyard greening on students and the environment and (2) develop and implement a climate health equity curriculum for teachers to prepare them to teach a climate justice curriculum for K-12 students.
