Partnerships

The Center for Climatic Research is proud to partner with groups on and off campus to advance climate research. Learn more about our partners.

Wisconsin Rural Partnerships Institute (RPI)

CCR actively supported the RPI project on “Preparing Wisconsin’s rural communities for amplified weather extremes,” led by Professor Ken Genskow (Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture), Steve Vavrus (Wisconsin State Climatology Office), and Professor Paul Block (Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and CCR’s Bryson Distinguished Professor).

Through the RPI, CCR director Michael Notaro has provided professional development to K-12 teachers at multiple rural Wisconsin schools, including Nekoosa High School, New Lisbon Middle and High School, and Wonewoc/Union Middle and High School, to implement hands-on youth citizen science related to the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and pedosphere within the NASA GLOBE program.
