Strategies for Bridging Science and Advocacy

Speaker:  Chelsea Chandler, Climate, Energy & Air Program Director, Clean Wisconsin

To address the critical issues of climate change and air pollution, we need policymakers to embrace science-based solutions. Yet there is often a disconnect between science, advocacy, and policy. Similarly, decision-makers don’t always fully understand how proposed policies will impact stakeholders or communities. With an interdisciplinary background in science, advocacy, and farming, Chandler works as a trusted connector and translator to drive climate and clean air solutions through policy and practice. In this talk, Chandler will give examples of how she leverages her varied experiences to effect change in Wisconsin and will share lessons for others who might want to build on their own scientific training in a similar way.
